THE MILKING PALE AN EXELENET NEW SONG Much In REQUEST
YE Nimphs and Silvian Gods
That loves green Fieldls, and woods
And Spring newly born herself doth adorn:
With fflours and Blumey Buds
Come Sing to the Praise while flocks do grase
In yonder Pleasant Vaille:
Of those that Chouse ther sleep to loose
And in cold dews with cloutet shows
That carries the Milking pale.
(2)
The godess of the morn with blushes they adorn
And take the fresh Air whil Linnits Prepare
A consort on each green Thorn
The Black-bird and the Thrush one every bush
And the charming Nightingale
In a merry Vain Ther Throats do strain
To entertain The Jolly Train
That carryes the Milking Pale
(3)
When cold black Winds do roar
And Flowrs can Spring no more
The fields that were seen so pleasant and green
By winter all Candid o're
Oh! how the town Lass Looks with her white face
And her Lips of deadly pale
But it is not So
With those that go thrugh frost and Snow
With Checks that Glow,
And carry the Milking Pale
(4)
The Miss of courtly mould
Adornd with pearl and Gold
With washe and Paint
Her Skin does so taint
Sh'es withered befor sh'es old
Whilst She in commod
Puts on a cart-load
And with cushions Pumps her tayle
What Joys are found
In russet Gown
Young plump and round
And sweet and sound,
That carryes the Milking Peal
[5)
The Girles of Venus Game
That Venturees helth and faime
In practising feates,
With Colds and with Heats
Makes Lovers grow blind and Lame[?]
If Men were So-wise,
To Value the price,
Of the Warrs most fit for Sale
What Store of Bose
Would daub their Cloaths
To save a Nose,
By following those,
That carries the Milking Pale.
(6)
The Countrie Lade is free
From fears and Jealusie
Whels upon the Green He often is seen
With his Lasi upon his Knee
With Kisses most Sweet
He does her treat
And swears sh'el never grow steall
But the London Lass,
In every place with her brazn face
Dispises the Grace
Of those of the Milking Pale
