Remember man both night and day, thou
must nedes die there is no nay.

THy mortal body four-med of clay
Wyll sone resolve and passe away
But yet the time, houre, nor day
Uncertayne is, wherfore I say
Remember man.

In youth or pleasure if thou put trust
In honour, treasure or yet in lust
Sone al thy joy shall turne to dust
For remediles hence thou must
Remember man.

Al high estate and dignitie
Pompe, glory, wealthe and soveraygntie
It cannot prolonge thy lyfe pardie
But all shall turne to vanitie
Remember man.

The mo thy yeres, the shorter is thy lyfe
Agaynst Death there is no strife
And no kinne, friend, child nor wyfe
For thy pore soule wyl be pensife
Remember man.

Then help thy soule whyle thou art here
For though thy frend be never so nere
When thou art dead and layed in bere
They wyl with thy goodes make good chere
Remember man.

Art thou so folish for to beleve
That they thy soule wyll releve
Or yet thy goodes in almes geve
Which to forgo did thee sore greve.
Remember man.

Nay, nay they wyll say openly
It were much sinne and great folly
On him to rue or take pity
That kept his goodes so nigardly.
Remember man.

While thou hah goods do almes dedes
Let vertue destroy all vicious wedes
And sowe in thy soule the holsome sedes
Of sorow & repentance that to heaven ledes
Remember man.

Send forth before to make thy way
Charytable dedes which shall and may
Conduct the surely without delay
Paradise to winne at the endles day
Remember man.

Call also to thy memory
This world frayle and transitory
Full of foule sin and misery
To hevenly blisse cleane contrary
Remember man.

Of Christ Jesu the fervent love
Remember man all thynge above
Whome pitie did stirre and also move
To suffer death for thy behove
Remember man.

The fearefull day of strait judgement
Fir wel in thy intendiment
Where man and woman shall sore repent
Their synfull life and time mispente.
Remember man.

Forget not the infinite paynes of hell
Being so fervent and so fell
That nothynge can speke nor yet tell
Where damned soules shall evermore dwel
Remember man.

Remember thy joy inestimable
So pleasaunt and so delectable
Of Paradise so comfortable
Prepared for persons laudable
Remember man.

Man if thou kepe thys thyng in mynde
And to thy maker be not unkinde
Eternall Joy thou shalt then finde
Ordayned by God for al mankinde
Remember man.

The Joyes of Heaven the paynes of Hel
The passion of Christ his deth so fel
The world and death consider thou wel
And domes day love every deale.
Remember man.
