The glory of Middlesex, OR, The Bonny Lasse near Brainford: This Ditty doth concern a motion strange Of a brave Couple which will never change Whilst life remaines in him, and hers doe last, Their hearts both in one chaine are linked fast, Tune, I love my Love, etc.
I Have a Love that doth excel.
Near unto Branford she doth dwel
Her heart with mine is linked firm & fast
And so will be whilst life doth last
She constant is and so hath vow'd to be
Tis I love my love and she loves me.
Though Venus was of beauty rare,
So was the Grecian Damsel faire,
Yet both of them disloyal hearted prov'd
& brok their vowes with them they lov'd
But my sweet-heart will firm & constant be,
Tis I love my love, and she love me.
She's witty, pretty, fine and neat,
And in her person most compleat
The sweet complexion of her lovely face
Her other parts do bravely grace
Her blooming cheeks like crimson roses be
Tis I love my Love, and she loves me
Her breath methinks is rare and sweet,
That when her lips, with my lips meet,
I do receive from her so sweet a smell,
Which doth the Amber Greece excell
for every kisse I give, shee'l give me three
Tis I love my Love, and she loves me.
She also hath a pleasant voice,
Which makes my very heart rejoyce,
The sweet tun'd Nightingale that sings so clear
cannot exceed my dearest dear
Her sugared notes and tunes doth wel a-gree
Tis I love my Love, & she loves me
